3D design for 3D printing, when you have no file
Most people who need a printed part do not own a 3D file, and many have never opened modeling software. That is fine. We take what you have, whether it is a clear idea, a drawing on paper or a piece that cracked, and we build the digital model that the printer needs.
That covers very different needs: a homeowner looking for a replacement knob that is no longer sold, a small business that wants a custom holder for its counter, or an inventor who has the concept clear but no time to learn modeling. In every case the starting point is a conversation about what the part has to do.
Because we also print the part, the model is drawn with printing in mind from the start: the shape, the orientation and the way it will be made in PLA+ or PETG. If the part is too big for one print, the design can include the sections it will be split into, so they can be joined after printing.
What to send for your 3D model

Good numbers matter more than drawing skill. A rough sketch with the right measurements is more useful than a beautiful drawing without them, so measure the key distances twice and tell us which ones are critical, like the diameter of a hole or the width of the slot the part has to slide into.
- An idea: a short description of what the part does, where it goes and what it has to hold or fit.
- A sketch: a hand drawing or a screenshot with the main dimensions written on it.
- A broken piece: clear photos from several angles, ideally next to a ruler, plus the measurements you can take with a caliper or a tape measure.
- The mating parts: photos of what the piece attaches to, such as the screw holes, the slot or the edge it rests on.
- Use and material: whether it stays indoors or outdoors, takes impacts or sits near heat, and how many copies you need.
How the 3D modeling service is quoted
Design and printing are two separate jobs, so they get two separate prices. The design quote depends on how complex the part is and how much information we start from; a simple bracket with clear measurements is not the same work as a curved piece rebuilt from photos. We send you that price before we start modeling.
The printing is quoted on its own, like any other file, with the material, the quantity and the printing time. That way you know both numbers before you approve anything, and if you later want more copies or a second version, you only pay for what changes.
If the first print shows something to adjust, send us a photo and a note about what you noticed. We tell you what the correction involves before we modify the model, so the second print is a step forward and not a surprise.
From the approved model to the part in your hands
Once the design is done, we print it in PLA+ for indoor parts and rigid pieces, or in PETG when the part needs impact resistance, about 85°C of heat tolerance or UV stability outdoors. Colors are those of the IIID Max and Fremover filaments sold by Supplies3D.
You can pick the part up at our shop at 7086 NW 50th Street in Miami, Monday to Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., ask for local delivery, which we quote with the order, or have it mailed to any state. Replacing a broken piece from another city works the same way: photos and measurements in, printed part out.

Yes, send us photos from several angles and the measurements of the piece, and we model a replacement. Pictures of where it attaches help us get the fit right.
Is a hand sketch enough to start a 3D model?

Do I have to come to the shop to order a 3D design?
No, the whole process can happen by email or WhatsApp. When the part is printed, you choose pickup, local delivery or shipping anywhere in the US.
