3D Printing Prototypes
We print 3D prototypes in Miami for inventors, small businesses and makers, in PLA+ or PETG, and we ship them anywhere in the US. Order a single test piece or a new version every time your design changes. Email the STL or 3MF to info@supplies3d.shop or send it by WhatsApp, and we quote the project with its printing time. Collect it at our shop, ask for local delivery, or have it mailed.

Why print a prototype before you commit
A part that looks right on the screen can still fail in your hand. The holes may not line up with the screws, a lid may close too tight, or the grip may feel wrong once you hold it. A physical prototype shows you those problems while fixing them is still cheap.
A prototype can also settle questions that drawings leave open. Is the button easy to reach? Does the case leave room for the cable? Will the handle carry the weight it is meant to hold? A real object answers those faster than a discussion over a screen, and it gives your team, your partner or your client something concrete to react to.
That matters most before you pay for a mold, order a production run or pitch a product to a buyer. A printed model lets you check fit, form and basic function, take photos for a presentation, or put the idea in front of a few people and listen to what they say.
Rapid prototyping with 3D printing, version after version
Prototyping is rarely one print. You test the first version, find what to change, adjust the model and print again. Since we have no minimum order, each round can be a single piece, and every new file gets its own quote with the printing time.
Small, simple parts can come off the printer in about an hour, so a short loop of test and change is realistic. Bigger prototypes need more hours, and we tell you how many before we start. To keep track of the rounds, name each file with its version number when you send it.
Printing two or three variants in the same order is another way to save rounds. If you are torn between two wall thicknesses or two hole positions, send both files, test them side by side and keep the one that works. The rest of the design then moves forward from a decision instead of a guess.
- Version 1: check the overall size and shape.
- Version 2: correct the fit with the parts it connects to.
- Version 3: test it in real use, in the material you plan to keep.
- Later versions: small refinements until you are ready for production.
PLA+ or PETG for a 3D printed prototype
For most early prototypes, PLA+ is the natural choice. It is rigid, prints easily and holds its shape well, which makes it good for checking size, appearance and how parts fit together. It is meant for indoor use and starts to soften around 60°C, so it is not the material for a part that will sit in a hot car or near a heat source.
PETG makes sense once the prototype has to work. It resists impact well and bends before it breaks, it handles about 85°C, and it stays stable outdoors under UV. Brackets, clips, containers, enclosures and fixtures that live outside are typical PETG parts. Many projects start in PLA+ and move to PETG for the final test. If you are unsure, pick «Not sure, advise me» in the form and we recommend one.
How to order your prototype in Miami or by mail
Send us the STL or 3MF file to info@supplies3d.shop or on WhatsApp at +1 305-766-2476, and fill in the form on this page with the material, the quantity, the color and the date you need it. Colors come from the IIID Max and Fremover filaments that Supplies3D sells. If you only have an idea or a sketch, we can model the part first; design is quoted separately from printing.
When the prototype is ready, you choose how it reaches you: pickup at 7086 NW 50th Street, Miami, Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., local delivery quoted with the order, or shipping to any state. If the prototype is bigger than one print, we can split it into sections and join them after printing, as long as you agree to the cuts.
Before sending each version, write down what it needs to prove. A short note such as «check that the lid snaps onto the base» or «leave the clip outdoors for a week» helps us suggest the right material and quantity, and it keeps the next round focused on the one thing that has to change.

What is 3D printing prototyping?
It is making a physical test version of a part straight from a 3D file, so you can hold it, check it and improve it before manufacturing. Because no mold or tooling is needed, each new version only needs an updated file.
Can I order just one prototype?
Yes, a single piece is fine, since there is no minimum order. You can also order two or three versions side by side to compare them.
Should my prototype be printed in PLA or PETG?
Choose PLA+ for looks, size and fit, and PETG when the part has to take impacts, heat up to about 85°C or sun outdoors. We can advise you once we see the file and know what the part is for.
Can you print a prototype that is larger than a printer?
Yes, if you accept that it is cut into sections, printed separately and joined physically afterwards. We show you where the cuts would go before printing.
